The Otesha Creative Arts Ensemble, Winston-Salem NC

Otesha Creative Arts Ensemble Originally named Otesha Dancers, the group was established as a community outreach program thirty-two years ago. In 1982, Otesha Dancers incorporated more theatrical pieces, poetry and other styles of dance to their repertoire in order to broaden the audience base and to represent the entire Diaspora.  Soon there after, Otesha Creative Arts Ensemble was born.  Otesha Creative Arts Ensemble provides programs that explore the heritage and culture of African, modern and Jazz dance.  Otesha has entertained and educated individuals in school systems, universities, churches, festivals, and private functions both nationally and internationally.  Otesha Creative Arts Ensemble remains the only African-American dance company to perform in the Alex Haley International Roots Festival held bi-annually in Banjul, Gambia.
