and arts programs perform better in school. Kindezi Rites of Passage, Inc engages the youth in the surrounding
communities in motivation, movement and drumming with an emphasis on academics, social skills, self-esteem and community building. s

GARDEN PROJECT for YOUTH According to NGA (National Gardening Association), "gardening programs
are springboards to many social, environmental, and personal benefits, including health and wellness, reduced incidence of
childhood obesity, improved educational test scores, appreciation of nature and stronger communities."

| Kindezi Garden Project for Youth |
The purpose of the Kindezi Garden Project for Youth
is to cultivate community awareness; teamwork and an appreciation for the ecology and sustainable living through gardening.
Participating youth will learn to: - Identify
planting and harvest seasons
- Purchase and prepare seedlings
- Cultivate the earth to prepare for planting
- Tend
the garden (weed, water, etc)
- Harvest crops
- Prepare and preserve food
- SHARE THEIR BOUNTY
